How can I add a new member to my Circle?

To invite someone to join your Circle:
  1. From home screen (main map), tap on the + button at the bottom and end of your members avatar. Or from Circle detail screen, tap INVITE MEMBER button.
  2. Tap COPY button to copy the code or use the SHARE button to send the code to any app available to share with.

I received an invitation code. How can I join with it?

If you are a new user:
  1. Open Maplo app
  2. Create a new account
  3. On welcome screen, tap JOIN CIRCLE
  4. Enter code received
  5. Tap JOIN button
If you are an existing user:
  1. Open Maplo app
  2. On side menu, go to Circles
  3. Tap JOIN CIRCLE button at bottom
  4. Enter code received
  5. Tap JOIN button

How can I create a Circle?

  1. Open in-app side menu
  2. Tap Circles section
  3. Tap CREATE CIRCLE button at bottom
  4. Enter a name
  5. Tap CREATE

How can I remove a member from a Circle?

Note: Only the Owner of the Circle can remove a member

  1. Open in-app side menu
  2. Tap Circles section
  3. Tap the circle
  4. Tap the trash icon for the member that you want to remove
  5. Then tap REMOVE button

How can I leave a Circle?

  1. Open in-app side menu
  2. Tap Circles section
  3. Tap the circle
  4. Tap the exit door icon near your name
  5. Then tap LEAVE button

What does the gray color mean in the marker?

The gray pin marker over the map means that the last location of that user was more than 1 hour ago.

How can I improve location accuracy?

Location accuracy depends on many factors, such as your phone and your environment. For your phone, check that all location services are turned ON, including GPS, mobile data and Wi-Fi. Also, whitelist Maplo for any battery optimization or other restriction.

NOTE: Power-saving mode could stop location services or decrease drastically the location accuracy.

For Android:
  1. Go to Settings, tap Location
  2. Check that Location is activated and selected location method is "High Accuracy"
  3. Wi-Fi must be activated.
For iOS:
  1. Go to Settings, scroll down and tap Maplo
  2. Set Location settings to Always

Location not updating or keep showing an old location. What can I do?

NOTE: Power-saving mode could stop location services or decrease drastically the location accuracy.

For Android 9 (Pie):
  1. Go to Settings, tap Apps
  2. Tap on Maplo and tap on Battery (may have to tap on Advanced to see this)
  3. Tap on Battery optimization, then in select choose All apps
  4. Find and tap on Maplo, them tap on Don't optimize
For Samsung Android 9 (Pie):

    Apps that have not been opened in three days go into 'sleep mode' on Samsung phones. Open Maplo frequently to prevent it from going into 'sleep mode' and not update member's location in background mode

For Huawei Android 8 (EMUI 8) and later:
  1. Go to Settings, tap Battery, then tap Application Start/App Launch
  2. Search for Maplo and Disable Manage automatically
For Android 7:
  1. Go to Settings, tap Device maintenance
  2. On App power monitor make sure Maplo is not in this list
  3. Scroll down and tap Unmonitored app section and add Maplo to this list
For Huawei Android 7 (EMUI 5):
  1. Go to Settings, tap Battery, then tap Close apps after screen lock
  2. Verify that Maplo is disabled
  3. Then on Settings > Battery, tap Consumption level
  4. Search for Maplo and turn off High energy consumption warning and Close when the screen is blocked
For Huawei Android 6 (EMUI 4) and earlier:
  1. Go to Settings, and search for Battery
  2. Tap Battery manager > Protected Apps
  3. Set Maplo to On
For Samsung Android 6, 7 and 8:
  1. Go to Settings > Device Maintenance > Battery > Unmonitored Apps
  2. Add Maplo to the list
For Samsung Android 5:
  1. Go to Settings > Battery > Energy saving apps/App optimization
  2. Search and tap for Maplo
  3. Select option Off
For Xiaomi:
  1. Go to Settings > Battery & performance > Battery usage
  2. Turn off Battery saver
  3. On the app Security
    1. Boost speed > Settings > Lock apps, then set Maplo to on
    2. Manage apps > Maplo > App Battery Saver, set No restrictions
    3. Manage apps > Maplo, set Autostart to automatic
    4. Manage apps > Maplo > Restrict data usage, set Wi-Fi and Mobile data to on
    5. Manage apps > Maplo > Other permissions, select Start in background

I cannot locate members or send my location. What can I do?

In order to Location services work you need to enable Location permission and Notifications permission.

For Android:
  1. Go to Settings
  2. Search and tap for Apps or Notifications settings (may change by device model)
  3. Select Maplo
  4. Tap Notifications and enable it
For iOS:
  1. Go to Settings
  2. Search and tap for Maplo
  3. Tap Notifications
  4. Enable Allow Notifications

How do I stop sharing my location?

In-app side menu, tap Turn off button. It will close the app for Android or show the sleep screen for iOS, and stop all location services, even background.

Can someone locate me without my knowledge?

No, only you can choose when to join a Circle and only members of that circle can see your location. Also, in Circle's section you can see the members with whom you are sharing your location.

How do I deactivate/delete my account?

How can I reset my password?

  1. On Sign-up page (first page when open app without credentials), tap Sign-in
  2. On Sign-in page, tap Forgot password
  3. On Forgot password page, enter your e-mail
  4. Tap RESET PASSWORD
  5. Check your E-mail inbox and open it (if not, check spam folder)
  6. In the received e-mail click on RESET PASSWORD button
  7. Enter your new password and confirm it
  8. Click RESET PASSWORD

How can I change my email address?

version 1.1.3 or earlier

NOTE: Only for non-confirmed email address

  1. Side Menu > Settings > Profile
  2. Tap on EDIT button at right side of your actual email address
  3. Type your new email address
  4. Tap SAVE
  5. Check your E-mail inbox and open it (if not, check spam folder)
  6. In the received e-mail click on CONFIRM ACCOUNT button
  7. Enter your password and confirm it
  8. Click CONFIRM

How parental control works?

version 1.1.5 or earlier

With Parental Control enabled you can attach your account to your childrens, adding an extra layer of protection to them. Parent Account credentials will be asked every time they request to join a Circle, leave a Circle, show invitation code, logout or turn off location services.

For new users:

  1. At Sign-up form page, uncheck I am 16 years or older
  2. Tap on PARENT'S LOGIN button
  3. Enter Parent Account's credentials
  4. Tap on LOGIN button
  5. Complete Sign-up form

For users already registered:

  1. Side Menu > Settings > Profile
  2. Turn on Parental Control (toggle button)
  3. Enter Parent Account's credentials
  4. Tap on LOGIN button

How to disable parental control?

version 1.1.5 or earlier
  1. Side Menu > Settings > Profile
  2. Enter Parent Account's credentials
  3. Tap on VERIFY button
  4. Turn off Parental Control (toggle button)
  5. Confirm dialog tapping on DISABLE button
